The church in the Book of Acts was a supernatural churchy.  They read the Word of God together, fellowshipped together, worshipped God together, and God gave them favor.  Authentic New Testament spiritual power moved through that church to the surrounding culture.  Not emotionalism, hype, and a marketing program.  The church was built, and established on the power of God, and not the power of man.  Notice how Peter's sermon began with the word "repent."  "Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins: and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Iteresting, the Apostle Peter, moved by the power of the Holy Spirit began his message with one word, "Repent!"  Now, today many preachers, and churches are terrified to use the word "repent."  They avoid like the plague.  They have decided in their finite human wisdom, that they are smarter than God, and they are above using the word "repent."  But, that is exactly how the Apostle Peter started his message, with one word, "repent."

Then he exhorted them and told them to, "be saved from this perverse generation."  Wow!  He called the generation they lived in "perverse."  In other words Peter, was confrontational, not just "loving."  Of course, true love is confrontational, and fake love is sugary sweet, and nice.  A minister who really loves his people will not be fake, sugary sweet, and nice.  That doesn't mean he has to to be nasty, or negative.  The modern Christian church because it has moved very deeply into the arena of spiritual error, mistakenly believes we are to be "salespeople," for God.  Nonsense!

Large crowds prove nothing.  Absolutely nothing, there are Hip Hop, and rock'nroll groups that can pull in large crowds.  What is important to God is that the true Gospel of Jesus Christ is being preached, and then men, and women truly "repent" of their sins, and live holy lives.

God blessed this church in Acts, "Then those who gladly received his word were baptized: and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.  And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.  Then fear came on every soul, and, many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. .. praising God and having favor with all the people.  And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved."  Acts Chapter 2

They were studied the Word of God, the apostles doctrine.  Not just a bunch of jokes, motivational, or pop-psychology lessons.  The modern church is often large, but in many cases ( not all ), it is often powerless.  There is no true transformation in the lives of the people, and the surrounding culture is not being impacted with the Gospel.  How do we change that?  Get back to the Biblical formula.  The church, just like the individual Christian life must be built on the power of God.  Not emtionalism, as a counterfeit.  But, the genuine power of God.  Many Christians in America today, do not even know what the power of God is.  Again, I am not talking about emotional outbursts.  The supernatural power of God to transform lives, save souls, and deliver! 

THE LAMB UPON THE THRONE, A SUPERNATURAL UNIVERSE, PHYSICS, STRING THEORY, WORSHIP AND YOU RIGHT HERE NOW!

            The ancient Hebrew teachers were correct!  The Universe is composed of at least 11 dimensions.  In addition,  Theoretical physicist and author of “Parallel Worlds,” Michio Kaku who is co-founder of a a branch of the "String Theory," believes in an inlfationary mulit-universe model of the Universe.  Kaku explains his theory, "Physics could the universe is like a musical string, with substomic paritlces as its notes. Physics would be like harmonies...you could write these on vibrating strings.  Ten what is chemistry?  Chemistry is the meldoies you can play on these strings.  Then what is the mind of God?  The mind of God that EInstein spent thirty years of his life trying to read would be cosmic music resonating through eleven-dimensional hyper-space  .Michio Kaku, a leading theoretical physicist and the author of Parallel Worlds,  has no problems accepting the theory. In fact, Kaku is a co-founder of a branch of "String Theory" physics which is consistent with the inflationary, multiverse model. To explain his theory to the lay public, Kaku often likens the universe to a musical string, with subatomic particles as its "notes." 

 When the Apostle John was taken up into heaven this is what he saw:  The Throne Room of Heaven:

 1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. 3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald. 4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes; and they had crown of gold on their heads. 5 And from the throne proceeded lightnings, thunderings, and voices. Seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
6 Before the throne there was a sea of glass, like crystal. And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying:


      “ Holy, holy, holy,
      Lord God Almighty,
      Who was and is and is to come!”

9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:
       11 “ You are worthy, O Lord,
      To receive glory and honor and power;
      For You created all things,
      And by Your will they exist^] and were created.”
At the very center of the universe is the throne room of God, and worship appears to be the cosmic platform upon which God created all things by His will.  The Personal Living God of the Universe is outside of space, and time.  Modern physics is scrambling to keep up with the Infinite Personal God.  But, when you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Personal Lord, and Savior you can enter the throne room of God through the blood of Jesus Christ.  This Personal God of the Cosmos who is love, delights in your company, and is eager to answer your prayers!

                                               CITIZENS OF HEAVEN

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.  Philippians 3:20-21

 

    You and I are citizen’s of heaven.  We are only passing through this world.  This present world is not our final home.  “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light:  who were once not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.  Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul.”  1 Peter 2:9-11

 

            “For I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner as were all my fathers.”  Psalm 39:12b  David was saying that he was just one who was passing through this world.  This world is important and what we do down here on earth is very important.  But, everything we do should be done in light of eternity.  Heaven is our real home.  We are just here for a few years and then we enter the Kingdom of Heaven .  It is so important for us to have an eternal perspective on life.

 

            Many of those around us are spiritually dead.  They walk in spiritual darkness.  We are not to live and behave like those who are spiritually dead.  We are children of the light and children of the day.  We are here for a brief season and then we will enter eternity.  Eternity is a brand new world and we will live in a place called Heaven.  The people in our society do not believe Heaven is real.  They think that this life is all there is.  “Grab all the gusto you can …you only go around once.”  How tragic!  This life is a blip on the radar screen of eternity.

 

            Are you living for eternity?  I am not talking about being super spiritual and living like monks.   I am not talking about being lazy, sloppy or stupid.  Down here on earth we are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.  We are to take care of business. That means spiritual, political and financial and financial business.
